At the initiative of the president of the Tajikistan Football Federation (TFF) Rustam Emomali, who is also Mayor of Dushanbe, sports uniform have been donated to athletes in Khorog, the capital of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), on the occasion of Athlete’s Day. 

TFF press center says sports kits, volleyball and football balls as well as kimonos have been handed over to the Khorog-based sports schools on volleyball, football, basketball, boxing and judo. 

The head of the GBAO Department for Youth and Sports’ Affairs, Suraj Chorshanbiyev, has reportedly expressed gratitude to Rustam Emomali for support providing to GBAO athletes and coaches.

The Tajikistan Football Federation is the governing body of football in Tajikistan.  The federation was founded in 1936 in the Tajikistan SSR as a sub-federation of the Soviet Football Federation.  It was not until 1994 when the Federation was accepted by the international community including the continental and global associations.
