Tajik Railways (Tajik state-run railway company) is seeking benefits for export cargo shipments to the Russian Federation.

According to the press center of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, this issue was discussed on August 19 in Dushanbe at a meeting of Mr. Yevgeny Korenkov, the Trade Representative of Russia in Tajikistan with Ms. Shoista Saidmurodzoda, Deputy Minister of Transport of Tajikistan and Mr. Komil Mirzoaliyev, Head of Tajik Railways.  

The sides reportedly discussed the acquisition by Tajikistan, also on a leasing basis, of the Russian railway equipment, including innovative, freight, passenger and special cars as well as equipment and tools necessary for their service.  

“Besides, the sides discussed the possibility of granting additional benefits to Tajik Railways for export cargo shipments,” says the press center of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.
