The government has ordered relevant bodies to begin work on establishing a new national TV channel “Science & Nature.”

A decree on approving the structure and limit staff of the new TV channel was signed by President Emomali Rahmon on August 28/

87 people are expected to work with the “Science & Nature” TV channel. 

The Committee for TV and Radio-broadcasting and the State Committee on Investment and State-owned Property Management are ordered to provide the “Science & Nature” TV channel with premises and transport means and other necessary equipment within the next six months    

Recall, the head of the Committee for TV and Radio-broadcasting, Nouriddin Said, told reporters in Dushanbe on July 22 that only 65 percent of Tajikistan’s population has access to digital television to date.  

According to him, 13 national TV channels, 35 private TV stations, 10 national radio stations, 24 private radio stations and 14 audiovisual production studios now operate in the country.
