On September 25, 2020, a meeting was held at the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) office between the Resident Representative, ambassador Qozidavlat Qoimdodov, and the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (IRA) to the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Muhammad Zohir Aghbar.

During the meeting, the ambassadors have discussed ways to strengthen effective cross-border cooperation in the fields of education, health, energy, telecommunications and agriculture between the AKDN of Tajikistan and the IRA, and stressed the importance of joint efforts to reinforce regional collaboration. In particular, it was underlined that through cross-border bridges as well as by effective cooperation with development partners and international organizations the government of the IRA and Tajikistan are able to promote the creation of new jobs and reduce poverty in both countries.

Both sides have expressed their readiness to further develop cooperation for mutual benefit.
