Its length will be over 22 kilometers.

The project for the construction of a semi-circular road around the city of Khujand and the restoration of the ecological state of the Syrdarya was discussed on September 30 at a meeting of the Public-Private Partnership Council chaired by the First Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan Davlatali Said.

It was noted that the project on Khujand was planned to be implemented even during the Soviet Union period, but it did not happen. Now the head of state Emomali Rahmon instructed the government of the country to implement it.

It is expected that the project to be implemented in two phases. At the first stage, it is planned to lay a motorway with a length of 22 kilometers around the left bank of the city. The reconstruction of the bridge across the Syrdarya, which has been operating since 1963, is also expected.

The second phase of the project involves the restoration of the ecological state of the Syrdarya and the city, bank protection works in order to create conditions for the construction of tourist, recreational, entertainment and transit facilities on two banks of the river (from the city of Guliston to the city of Khujand, about 31 km long).
