FDI attracted by Dushanbe-based enterprises in January-September 2020 amounts to US$155 million

Foreign direct investment (FDI) attracted by Dushanbe-based enterprises over the first three quarters of the last year amounted to US$155 million, including US$53 million attracted by 29 enterprises and nearly US$102 million attracted by 16 enterprises.

45 joined ownership enterprises (with foreign capital) now operate in Dushanbe, according to the Dushanbe Administration press center.    

13 national investment projects are currently being implemented in Dushanbe.  Given the past year, US$455 million has reportedly been utilized for implementation of these projects, including US$28.5 million utilized in 2020.  

A total number of business entities operating in Tajikistan is reportedly more than 42,400.  The Dushanbe Administration press center says 7,316 enterprises and companies (legal entities) and about 35,000 individual entrepreneurs now work in the Tajik capital.  

475 industrial enterprises operating in Dushanbe last year produced a total of 2.4 billion somnis worth of goods.  Compared to 2019 the index of the volume of production of industrial goods reportedly amounted to 106.2 percent.

Last year, Dushanbe’s gross regional product amounted to 10.4 billion somnis, which is 4.0 percent more than in 2019.
