MPs endorse president’s decrees without discussion

Members of Tajikistan’s lower chamber (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament have endorsed president’s decrees on appointing Mirhayot Yoqubzoda and Firdavs Tolibzoda deputy heads of the National bank of Tajikistan (NBT).

A regular sitting of the Majlisi Namoyandagon, presided over by its head, Mahmadtoir Zokirzoda, was held on January 28.  

MPs also unanimously voted for ratification of an agreement between the Government of Tajikistan and the World Bank on providing a US$10 million grant to Tajikistan for implementation of the project aimed at improving the coverage and quality of basic primary health care services in rural health facilities in 16 districts of the country. 

Besides, Majlisi Namoyandagon members voted for ratification of an agreement on Tajikistan’s joining CIS agreements “On the Use of Military Satellite Communications” and “On Sharing Geospatial Information.”  

First Deputy Minister of Defense, Lieutenant-General Emomali Sobirzoda, noted that according to the CIS Agreement on the Use of Military Satellite Communications, Tajikistan will be able to use Russian military satellite communications free of charge.
