Tajik parliament speaker, Azerbaijani ambassador discuss cooperation issues

Mahmadtoir Zokirzoda, Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) yesterday received Azerbaijani Ambassador to Tajikistan Hasan Mamed-zade.  

According to the Majlisi Namoyandagon press center, the two discussed state and prospects of further expansion of parliamentarian cooperation between Tajikistan and Azerbaijan.

They also exchanged views on bilateral political, economic and social cooperation between the two countries, Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, said. 

Zokirzoda, in particular, noted that legal foundation of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Azerbaijan includes 56 government-to-government agreements.  

At the same time, Tajik parliament speaker noted that there is still a room for further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Azerbaijan and Tajik parliament is ready to facilitate the expansion of bilateral collaboration between the two countries.   

Azerbaijani diplomat, for his part, assured Zokirzoda that he as ambassador of his country to Tajikistan will do everything in his power to take the relationship between Baku and Dushanbe the next level, Sultonov said.
