Tajik law enforcement authorities reported on February 15 that they have a woman in Dushanbe who was allegedly involved in traffic local young women to India.

According to the Interior Ministry press center, a 36-year-old woman from Luchob jamoat in Varzob district promised a 33-year-old woman from Hisor City and a 29-year-old woman from Vahdat Township jobs, but the women she recruited were actually intended for India brothels.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the detained woman under the provisions of Article 130 (1) f Tajikistan’s Penal Code – human trafficking; an investigation is under.
