On March 19, Resident Representative of Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) in Tajikistan Qozidavlat Qoimdodov had a meeting with the new International Financial Corporation (IFC) Country Officer, Farrukh Sultonov, according to AKDN Tajikistan.

During the discussion, Mr. Qoimdodov reportedly shared his experience in launching Pamir Energy and other large AKDN projects, stressing that these projects were created when investors were not interested in investing in the Tajik economy. However, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, it became possible to establish Pamir Energy Company (PamirEnergy) through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) platform, where the International Finance Corporation (IFC) played an important role.

These initiatives have proven to be some of the most successful to date.  Currently, these projects make a significant contribution to government revenues through taxes, as well as create employment opportunities.

In addition, it was noted that IFC could invest in new potential projects.  Among the ideas were investments in agriculture, processing of fruits and vegetables and production of medicinal plants in the regions of the republic together with AKDN.  An IFC representative named AKDN a strategic partner in Tajikistan.

In conclusion, the parties reportedly focused on further mutually beneficial partnership.
