Tajik, Belarusian, Afghan entrepreneurs sign contracts for a total of more than US$11 million

Following the Afghanistan-Tajikistan-Belarus business forum that took place in Dushanbe on April 6, Tajik, Belarusian, Afghan entrepreneurs have signed contracts for a total of US$11.3 million. 

More than 200 representatives of business communities and officials of Tajikistan, Belarus and Afghanistan participated in the forum.  

The signed documents provide for collaboration between the countries in the fields of industry, education, and food supplies. 

In the frameworks of the signed contracts, the share of Tajikistan’s exports reportedly accounts for 46% of the overall volume.  

According to data from the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan, the bilateral trade between Tajikistan and Afghanistan last year valued at little more than 70.7 million U.S. dollars, which was 28 percent fewer than in 2019.  

A two-way trade between Tajikistan and Belarus last year reportedly valued at about 55 million U.S. dollars, which was nearly twice as much compared to 2019.  

Recall, an exhibition of Belarusian goods, dubbed “Made in Belarus”, took place in Dushanbe this week. 

Forty Belarusian companies participated in the exhibition that opened at Hyatt Regency Dushanbe on April 6.

The companies have put on display their achievements in agriculture, food industry, engineering industry, medicine, tourism and relevant industries at the fair that ran through April 7. 

An agrarian forum TajBelAgro is being held in Dushanbe today.

A Belarusian government delegation including Minister of Agriculture and Food Ivan Krupko, Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Ulakhovich, Deputy Minister of Industry Alexander Ogorodnikov, Deputy Minister of Sports and Tourism Mikhail Portnoy, Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian State Food Industry Concern Alexander Yakovchits as well as senior representatives of relevant ministries and Belarusian largest enterprises and senior representatives of Belarusian regions have arrived in Dushanbe to participate in the economic cooperation commission’s session.
