Dushanbe mayor orders medical facilities to intensify COVID-19 vaccination campaign

Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali held a working meeting on June 23 to discuss measures to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the Tajik capital.

The meeting participants included deputy mayors, heads of Dushanbe’s districts, senior representatives of law enforcement agencies and relevant structures, according to the Dushanbe mayor’s office.

Speaking at the meeting, the mayor reportedly ordered local medical facilities to intensify the COVID-19 vaccination campaign and relevant structure to take practical steps for the diagnosis of the coronavirus infection and certain self-protection deadlines applicable to persons entering the country from abroad.  

Besides, Emomali ordered to take measures to provide hospitals with necessary medicines and equipment and increase the volume of disinfectants and sanitation supplies. 

The mayor also instructed to carry out house-to-door rounds to carry carrying out explanation work among the population. 

He also instructed to pay attention to restaurants, cafes and other public places organizing commemorative events and take decisive measures to ensure compliance with sanitary and hygienic standards, social distancing.  

A special working group has been set up to monitor the implementation of mayor’s instructions.
