A government session, presided over by President Emomali Rahmon, took place on June 30 to review the results of the work carried out in the first half of this year and discuss the plan of work set for the second half of the year, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

It was noted that the plan of work for the second half of the year includes six events being of national and international significance.  

The Minister of Agriculture Sulaimon Ziyozoda reported on the results of the work carried out over the first six months of this year and achievements made by the country’s agrarian sector.

He, in particular, talked about measures taken to increase the number of breeding stock, provide the population with meat, milk, eggs, fishes and honey, provide relevant spheres of the industrial sector with raw materials, and develop the production of import-substituting products.  

“Analysis of the country’s comprehensive livestock development program designed for 2018-2022 has shown that with the support of the government and the provision of benefits, the development of livestock farming, poultry and fish farming will be ensured, the minister said.  

Ziyozoda noted that according to the statistical data, population of cattle and small livestock, horses and poultry as well as production of meat, eggs, fiches and honey increased in 2018-2020,   

The session participants also discussed a number of draft laws that were sent for consideration to the parliament.   

The session participants also discussed the following strategies and programs:

 

  • The Strategy of Development of Sciences, Technologies and Innovations for the period up to 2030;
  • The National Program for Training Highly Qualified Scientific Personnel for 2021-2030;
  • The National Crime Prevention Program for 2021-2030;
  • Forecast of the Main Macroeconomic Indicators of the Country for 2022-2024;
  • Creation of the TV Channel “Tourism and Folk Crafts”.
