A soldier of the National Guard who was on duty at the Prosecutor-General’s Office building in Dushanbe died from four shots from Kalashnikov assault rifle inside the building.

A source within the Prosecutor-General’s Office says the incident took place on the Night of July 14.

“According to the preliminary investigation, it was a suicide.  The soldier shot himself in the chin and four bullets went through the head,” the source said.

It is not yet known what forced the soldier to take an extreme step, he added.

The source refrained from giving further details.

A representative of the Dushanbe military prosecutor’s office has confirmed the information about the incident but refrained from commenting on it saying that the case is classified as “secret.”
