The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation handed over to the armed forces of Tajikistan against the background of an unstable situation on the border with Afghanistan 12 modernized armored reconnaissance and patrol vehicles BRDM-2M. The solemn ceremony was held in Dushanbe, reported by the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Russian Ministry of Defense to which TASS refers.

"The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation handed over to the armed forces of the Republic of Tajikistan 12 modernized armored reconnaissance and patrol vehicles BRDM-2M with sets of spare parts for them, small arms, melee weapons and property of radiation, chemical and biological protection", – the message says.

The ceremony of transfer of equipment from the Russian side was attended by the Deputy Commander of the Central Military District, Major General Yevgeny Tsindyaykin.

" Against the background of growing instability near the southern border of Tajikistan, we jointly ensure the security of our states. This is a reliable and proven technique that will increase the combat potential of the armed forces of the Republic of Tajikistan and will become another weighty argument in ensuring the country's defense ", – said Tsindyaykin.
