Tohir Azizzoda, chairman of the Mastcha district of the Sughd region, died on the evening of September 14 at the age of 41 after an operation in Dushanbe region, passed away.

He was 41 years old and suffered from covid.

Tohir Azizzoda, chairman of the Mastcha district of the Sughd region, died on the evening of September 14 at the age of 41 after a surgery in Dushanbe.

According to sources in the district, the farewell ceremony with the head of the district will be held on September 15 in his native village of Pastigavi.

 On the evening of September 14, the Nigokhi Khalk newspaper of the PDPT in Mastcha district announced on its Facebook page the death of the district chairman: «… Azizzoda Tohir Mirzorakhmat dies after a short illness».

People close to the head of the district told Asia-Plus that Thohir Azizzoda contracted the coronavirus at the end of June and was treated for about a month.

One of his relatives said: "Two days ago, Azizzoda was taken to Dushanbe with an unknown illness and died on the evening of September 14 after the surgery".

The chairman of the Mastcha region, Tokhir Azizzoda, was awarded the medal "For Services to the People" at the end of August in honor of the 30th anniversary of Tajikistan's independence.
