Emomali Rahmon, who in the morning flew by helicopter to Lakhsh, held a meeting with the district's activists, talking about the achievements and omissions.

The President noted that over the years of Tajikistan's independence, over 1.2 billion somoni was allocated from all sources for the development of Lakhsh (formerly Jirgatal), and 320 million somoni was allocated from the republican budget over these years to support the district budget, the press service of the head of state reports.

According to him, about 700 million somoni have been allocated for the implementation of 21 state projects in Lakhsh over 30 years.

He stated that the government will allocate more than 221 million somoni to implement the Lakhsh development program for 2021-2022.

«Despite the fact that the industry in Lakhsh as a whole is developing, sufficient measures have not been taken in the region to develop the garment and gold mining industries», – noted the president.

At the same time, he stressed that over the 30 years of Tajikistan's independence, the cultivation of agricultural products in Lakhsh has tripled.

According to the head of state, over 20 years, funding for the education sector in the district has increased 50 times, and funding for the district health system – 79 times.
