The growth in the cost of motor fuel in Tajikistan was observed from the very beginning of the year, but its sharp rise in price began in March.

About 389 thousand tons of oil products worth $ 234 million were imported by Tajikistan in January-August this year, the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic reports.

Fuel imports by weight decreased by 6% and cost increased by 17.8% compared to the same period in 2020.

The average price of one ton of imported petroleum products in January-August of this year rose to $ 602 from $ 480 in the same period in 2020.

The retail cost of gasoline at gas stations in the country for eight months of this year increased by 58.9%, liquefied gas – by 80%, diesel fuel (diesel fuel) – by 39.4%.

During this period, the republic itself produced 297 tons of gasoline, which is 50% more than in eight months of last year.
