A production complex being built by Closed Joint-Stock Company (CJSC) TALCO Gold in Ayni district of Sughd province is expected to be introduced into operation by late March next year.

During a press-trip to the site for construction of the mentioned production complex, builders noted that it remains to complete assembling and finishing work.

CJSC TALCO Gold, which is an affiliate of the Tajik Aluminum Company (TALCO)  is a Tajik-Chinese joint venture (the Chinese side assumes the 50% ownership interest in TALCO Gold).

Recall, TALCO Gold is constructing a metallurgical plant in Ayni district on the basis of the Konchoch group of deposits, which consists of three gold deposits – Chulboi (gold and silver; Konchoch (gold, silver, mercury, fluorite); and Shahkon (gold, antimony, fluorite and arsenium).

TALCO was granted licenses to develop these deposits in December 2015.  The company has the right to use these deposits for twenty five years.

The Konchoch group of deposits reportedly has possible gold reserves of 50 tons and possible silver reserves of more than 59 tons.  It reportedly also has possible mercury reserves of 1,197 tons and possible fluorite reserves of more than 76,000 tons (fluorite is used for production of aluminum).
