Afghanistan among trading partners of Tajikistan’s exports in January-November this year

Over the first eleven months of this year, a two-way trade between Tajikistan and Afghanistan has valued at 82 million U.S. dollars, which was 26.1 percent more than in the same period last, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

This reportedly consisted of Tajikistan’s exports to Afghanistan estimated at 79.3 million U.S. dollars (93 percent) and Tajikistan’s imports from Afghanistan worth 2.7 million U.S. dollars.

Over the reporting period, electricity has accounted for more than 50 percent of Tajikistan’s exports to Afghanistan.

In all, Tajikistan exports in January-November this year have reportedly amounted to more than 1.8 billion U.S. dollars, which was 36.6 percent more than in the same period last year.

Over the reporting period, Switzerland, Kazakhstan, Turkey, China, Russia and Uzbekistan were the major trading partners of Tajikistan’s exports. 

Imports of goods into the country over the same eleven-month period have amounted to more than 3.7 billion U.S. dollars, which was 32 percent more than in January-November last year.

In January-November this year, the major trading partners of Tajikistan’s imports were Russia, Kazakhstan, China, Uzbekistan, Turkey India, Germany and Japan.  

Over the reporting period, the trade balance was negative and amounted to 1.9 billion U.S. dollars.

In January-November this year, Tajikistan had trade relations with 111 countries, including ten CIS member nations.

Over the same eleven-month period, major trading partners of Tajikistan were: Russia – more than 1.1 billion U.S. dollars (a two-way trade turnover); Kazakhstan – more than 1 billion U.S. dollars; Switzerland – 726 million U.S. dollars; China – 770 million U.S. dollars; Uzbekistan – 397 million U.S. dollars; and Turkey – 354 million U.S. dollars.
