Tajik Prime Minister Qohir Rasoulzoda yesterday received Belarus Ambassador to Tajikistan Viktor Denisenko.

The Belarus Embassy’s website says the parties discussed new ways to increase the bilateral trade between the two countries with a focus on implementation of joint long-term economic and humanitarian projects in Tajikistan.

A special attention was paid to the issues related to the work of the Tajik-Belarusian joint commission for trade and economic cooperation and organization of its activities in 2022.

Ambassador Denisenko reportedly informed Tajik prime minister about socioeconomic and political situation in Belarus, including the main aspects of the forthcoming referendum on amendments to country’s Constitution.

The Tajik party, for its side, reportedly noted in a positive way the progressive development of bilateral political and economic dialogue and focused on the need to develop a program document (roadmap) for the medium term in order to give additional impetus to the mutually beneficial cooperation.

According to Khovar news agency, the bilateral trade between Tajikistan and Belarus over the first nine months of this year has valued at about 30 million U.S. dollars.
