Tajik, Iranian leaders exchange congratulations on 30th anniversary of Tajikistan-Iran diplomatic relations

On Sunday January 9, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi exchanged congratulations on the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

In his message of congratulations, Emomali Rahmon, in particular, noted that over the reporting period, the countries have consistently taken practical steps to reach a high level of constructive relations, find new ways to expand a multifaceted cooperation and provide effective prospects of further expansion of them.  

“To achieve these goals, Tajikistan always stands for the ever-increasing expansion of multifaceted ties between our countries in the spirit of mutual understanding, partnership and confidence as well as for development and implementation of appropriate projects, programs and measures,” reads Tajik president’s message.  

In conclusion, Tajik leader reportedly expressed hope that “the jubilee year will brighten up relations between the two fraternal countries with its new achievements.” 

Meanwhile, IRNA reports that Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said in his message of congratulations that expansion of cooperation between Iran and Tajikistan is possible.

President Raisi reportedly expressed hope that given the existing political determination and with the joint efforts, they will witness the comprehensive development of Iran-Tajikistan relations.

He pointed out that the two states have achieved a very high level of relations in bilateral, regional, and international arenas by utilizing deep historical, cultural, civilizational, and linguistic commonalities over the past three decades.

Considering the enormous capacities of the two countries, President Raisi said that it is possible to promote the level of cooperation, especially in the economic sector.

He wished health and success for his Tajik counterpart and happiness for the people of Tajikistan.
