The Tajik MFA information department says an  article entitled "The Republic of Tajikistan Leads Global Water Initiatives" was published in the fifth issue of Iran’s popular English-language  magazine Trends.

The article is reportedly dedicated to the global initiatives of Tajik President Emomali Rahmon in the water sector.

This article describes four global initiatives of the Tajik president in the water sector: 1) the International Year of Fresh water, 2003; 2) the International Decade for Action "Water for Life, 2005-2015"; 3) the International Year of Water Cooperation, 2013; and 4) the International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028."

The article reportedly emphasizes the great importance of the initiatives for solving global water problems.

The conclusion of the article, published at the initiative of the Embassy of Tajikistan in Tehran, states that the initiatives of the President of Tajikistan in the water sector are primarily aimed at strengthening cooperation and regulating relations in this vital area, and inspire new views on the use of water resources in the region and the world and pave the way for the achievement of the sustainable development goals.
