Over the first five months of this year, Tajikistan’s textile imports from Uzbekistan have amounted to 10.5 million U.S. dollars (6.14 percent of total Tajikistan’s imports from Uzbekistan – Asia-Plus), which is almost two times more than in the same period last year, Centralasia.media reports, citing Uzbekistan’s Committee for Statistics.

In January-May last year, Tajikistan reportedly imported US$5.4 million worth of textiles from Turkey.  

Total Tajikistan’s imports from Uzbekistan in January-May this year have amounted to 171 million U.S. dollars, which is 11.3 percent more than in the same period last year, when total Tajikistan’s imports from Uzbekistan amounted to 153.6 million U.S. dollars.

Over the reporting period, the bilateral trade between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan has valued at 233.7 million U.S. dollars, which is 29.9 percent more than in January-May last year (179.9 million U.S. dollars).
