Tajikistan imported about 28,000 tons of flour and 463,000 tons of wheat in January-May of this year, the Agency on Statistics under the President of the country reports.

The volume of flour supplies to the republic increased over this period compared to the same period last year by almost 10%, while wheat imports decreased by 10.8%..

The import cost of flour increased by 50% compared to January-July 2021, and wheat – by 22%.

The total import value of flour imported to Tajikistan in January-May this year amounted to over $10.2 million, and wheat – more than $155.2 million.

The share of flour in the total volume of imports of Tajikistan for this period amounted to 0.4%, and wheat – 5.6%.

According to the Antimonopoly Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, about 98% of flour and wheat are imported into the republic from Kazakhstan.
