Emomali Rahmon held talks with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev today. The President of Tajikistan informed the President of Uzbekistan about the latest developments in the situation on the Tajik-Kyrgyz border, the press service of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan reports.

Details of the negotiations on this issue were not disclosed.

It is noted that the leaders of the two countries also discussed certain topical issues of Tajik-Uzbek relations of friendship, good neighborliness and mutually beneficial cooperation within the framework of strategic partnership and alliance.

Emomali Rahmon praised the organization of the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization held in Samarkand at the end of last week.

«The President of Tajikistan thanked the President of Uzbekistan for the warm welcome and traditional hospitality and highly appreciated the results of the meeting of the heads of state, which resulted in the adoption of a solid package of decisions and documents on various areas of the Organization's activities», – noted in the message.
