Two people were killed, two others injured on October 4 as two Opel-Astra cars crashed head-on on the Dushanbe-Khujand highway, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan reports.

Opel-Astra driven by 37-year-old resident of Khujand Kamol Qayumov drove into the oncoming lane and made a head-on collision with a car of the same brand driven by 40-year-old resident of Dushanbe Orzuqul Zulfonov.

As a result of injuries, the driver of Opel-Astra Kamol Qayumov and his passenger, 33-year-old resident of Bobojon-Gafourov district Bahriddin Jumayev, died at the scene.

The driver of the second car and his 38-year-old passenger, a resident of the Devashtich district, Bakhodir Kuziyev, were injured and were hospitalized.

An investigation into the accident is underway, the press service of the law enforcement agency reports.
