President Emomali Rahmon yesterday began a working visit to the northern province of Sughd.  According to the Tajik president’s official website, the main purpose of the visit is for the head of state to participate in celebrations dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the 16th session of Tajikistan’s Supreme Council, inaugurate a   number of economic and social facilities in the area and meet with residents of the province.

The Bobojon-Ghafourov district was the first leg of his visit to northern.

Rahmon yesterday participated in an official opening ceremony of the glass processing enterprise, Shishasokhtmon LLC, in the district.  The enterprise was reportedly built by local entrepreneur Shuhrat Nurmatov.  The enterprise is capable to process 40,000 square meters of glass per year.

Emomali Rahmon also inaugurated a poultry factory in the Bobojon-Ghafourov district yesterday.  The factory was also built by entrepreneur Shuhrat Nurmatov.  The enterprise was built on an area of 2,200 square meters and consists of five nurseries with a total capacity of 40,000 birds. 

On Sunday, the president also commissioned a Health Center in the village of Haidar Usmonov, Bobojon-Ghafourov district.  The new two-story healthcare facility was reportedly built with a modern design with the support of the Government of Tajikistan as part of the action plan to celebrate the 31st anniversary of the Republic of Tajikistan's independence.  The head of state instructed officials to pay special attention to the field of herbal medicine in their professional activities, along with the use of modern methods of medical services, and to use native medicinal flowers and herbs more in the process of treating patients.

On the same day, Emomali Rahmon attended an official opening ceremony of the "Shoh" Service Center in Haidar Usmonov village and met with 100 orphans.

The service center building has a cold store to store 1000 tons of agricultural products.  The modern cold store is reportedly equipped with the necessary devices and equipment; it has four large warehouses designed for storing fruits, vegetables and melons.

In continuation of his working visit, Emomali Rahmon visited the modern greenhouse of MMK Agro Limited Liability Company in the Bobojon-Ghafourov district.  The modern innovative greenhouse was built according to the "Euro 6" standard, which is considered the most modern generation of greenhouses, and high-quality agricultural products are grown there, according to the Tajik president’s official website.  The greenhouse was built on the area of 5 hectares of land, and currently various types of tomatoes are growing well there.  Currently, mainly Swiss, Turkish and French varieties of tomatoes are grown in the MMK Agro greenhouse.  It was reported that 150 to 180 tons of tomatoes can be harvested from each hectare of the greenhouse area. 

On the same day, the president visited the National Park of Unity in the BobojonGhafourov district. 

On November 13, Emomali Rahmon also visited the exhibition of agricultural products in the Bobojon-Ghafourov district.
