Days of Tajikistan Culture will take place in Turkmenistan from November 23 to November 25, according to the Ministry of Culture.

An official source within a MoC says that during three days, a Tajik delegation, led by the Minister of Culture Zulfiya Davlatzoda, will carry out a number of cultural activities in the Turkmen capital city of Ashgabat and Mary, a city on an oasis in the Karakum Desert, located on the Murgab River.

Exhibitions of works by Tajik modern painters, Tajikistan’s publishing products and Tajik national costumes will take place on the sidelines of the Days of Tajikistan Culture.

“Such events haves a positive effect on cultural relations between the two countries,” the source added.

Recall, co-chaired by the Tajik Minister of Energy and Water Resources Daler Juma and the Turkmen Minister of Finance and Economy Muhammetgeldi Serdarov, the 11th meeting of the Joint Turkmen-Tajik Intergovernmental Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation took place in Ashgabat on November 9-10.

The parties reportedly noted the progressive development of bilateral relations, which were given a powerful impetus by mutual visits of the President of Turkmenistan to Tajikistan in September 2021 and the head of Tajikistan to Turkmenistan in August and November 2021.

The meeting participants heard information from the parties on the implementation of the decisions of the tenth meeting of the Commission, held in July 2021 in Dushanbe.

During the November meeting, the parties reportedly reaffirmed their intention to further strengthen cooperation in the trade-economic and scientific-technical fields, and also reached various new agreements in areas of mutual interest.

In this context, the need to intensify work on the implementation of the Roadmap to increase trade volume between the two countries was stated.  In addition, key aspects of cooperation in the field of energy, industry, agriculture and water resources, as well as interaction in the transport sector were considered.

The meeting participants also discussed the development of cultural and humanitarian cooperation.  The parties noted the importance of holding joint events in the field of culture and science.
