An Iranian member of parliament has said a current Iranian government has sought to change the way Iran has carried out international cultural cooperation, according to IRNA.

Majid Nassirayi reportedly said on Saturday that a current Iranian administrative government led by President Ebrahim Raisi has sought to change the way Iran has interacted culturally with its neighbors and other countries.

According to him, the previous administration was mostly focused on the West.

“Today we are witnessing a change in (Iran’s) foreign policy which is aimed at creating a balance in international relations,” Nassirayi was quoted as saying by IRNA.

Iranian MP reportedly made the comments after he traveled to Tajikistan to accompany a senior delegation of Iranian government officials visiting the country.

Recall, the Iranian delegation, led by Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Mehdi Esmaeili, attended various events and gatherings in Tajikistan to mark a seventh round of Iran’s cultural weeks in Tajikistan, which took place from October 30 to November 6.

Tajikistan’s culture minister Zulfiya Davlatzoda said earlier last week that Dushanbe plans to immediately implement a series of cultural agreements signed by senior government officials of Iran and Tajikistan during the trip.
