Kurbon Hakimzoda, who for the past four years was the head of the Khatlon region, was relieved of his post by decree of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and was appointed Minister of Agriculture of Tajikistan.

According to an Asia-Plus source in the country's government, Davlatali Said, the former First Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan, was appointed head of the region in his place.

Also, according to the source, Bahriddin Sirojiddinzoda, who served as the first deputy director of the Agency for Land Reclamation and Irrigation, was appointed head of the Export Agency of Tajikistan.

He was appointed to this position instead of Shavkat Bobozoda, who was removed from his post, and after being arrested in September last year. It was reported that a high-ranking official is suspected of fraud on an especially large scale.

According to the source, Bobozada is in the pre-trial detention center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan, the investigation is being carried out by investigators from the Prosecutor General's Office.
