This year, the final round of the Sairi Guli Lola (Walking along the Tulip Field) contest and the award ceremony for the winners of the contest will take place in Dushanbe’s Firdavsi Park in the first half of April, according to the Ministry of Culture (MoC).

An official source at a MoC says the regional rounds at the levels of cities and districts will be held until the end of March and the round at the level of provinces will take place in early April.

“As in previous years, the contest is held in several categories. This year, the contest is held in six nominations: the best parks and squares; the best flower bouquet, the best ikebana flower arrangement; the best flower arrangement; modern flower bed design; and the best florist, the source said. 

The contest will determine the best flower arrangements and their authors will be rewarded with diplomas and cash prizes ranging from 1,000 somonis to 3,000 somonis and they will participate in the final, republican round of the contest, the source added.  

By president’s order the Sairi Guli Lola contest has been held in Tajikistan since 2019.  The contest reportedly aims to promote the revival of traditions to honor everything beautiful, environmental improvement, instilling a love for floriculture and horticulture, preservation of nature and so forth.
