Radio Liberty’s Tajik Service, known locally as Radio Ozodi, reported on June 8 that source in Tajikistan's government entities have said that dozens of armed Afghan citizens, including former Afghan military personnel, have been apprehended by Tajik law enforcement and security troops in the Tajik southern province of Khatlon.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, one of the Tajik officials told Radio Ozodi that the detained Afghan nationals had been transferred to Dushanbe.  The Tajik authorities have reportedly yet to confirm the situation.

Recall, hundreds of Afghan nationals fled to other countries via Tajikistan and Uzbekistan after the Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan.
