President Emomali Rahmon yesterday paid a working visit to Khovaling district in Khatlon province.  The main purpose of the visit was for the president to get acquainted with the socioeconomic situation in the area and inaugurate a number of social and economic entities. 

The Tajik president’s official website says Emomali Rahmon, in particular, put in commission a building of the Diagnostic and Treatment Center at the non-state educational institution "Medical College" in Khovaling district.

The new diagnostic and treatment center is located on the first floor of a 5-storey building, and the upper floors are designed as classrooms.

During his working visit to Khovaling district, Rahmon also visited the fruit drying and confectionery workshops of Obi Khovaling Limited Liability Company (LLC) as well as the exhibition of agricultural products and equipment.

The fruit drying workshop was reportedly built for the purpose of processing own agricultural products and packing such products in accordance with the requirements, and it will contribute to the development of the agro-industrial sector in the region.

The newly established workshop is capable to process and dry all types of fruits and pack them in accordance with international requirements.  Its final product is prepared under the label "Khovaling Fruits" and offered to the markets.

The president also got acquainted with the activity of the confectionery factory, where the production of high-quality and tasty products is carried out for the supply of the population.  It was reported that this factory currently produces about 30 products, which are offered to buyers of the Kulob region and residents of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO).  The enterprise created 40 new jobs for locals.  

It should be noted that with the opening of these two facilities, the number of "Obi Khovaling LLC’s enterprises in the district to six.   

While in Khovaling, the president also got acquainted with the Holiday Home for Orphaned Children and Teenagers project.  This facility is reportedly designed for seasonal recreation of 200 orphaned children and teenagers.

During his working visit to Khovaling, Emomali Rahmon got acquainted with production of potatoes in the croplands of the State Institution "Forestry named after Saidahmad Karim".

In continuation of his working trip to Khovaling district, the president visited the exhibition of honey, and took part and spoke at the seminar-consultation of the country’s beekeepers.

At this exhibition, 28 stands were set up, and the beekeepers of the country presented honey products, including beeswax, nectar, bee glue, royal jelly and many types of honey.

It should be said that the development of the beekeeping industry contributed to the creation of new jobs, and more than 10,000 residents of the country were provided with jobs and improved their living standards due to this industry alone.
