This year, International Culture and Tourism Festival “Roof of the World” will take place in the Central Park of Khorog City, the capital of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), on July 22-23.     

One of the festival organizers, Samandar Pulodov, told Asia-Plus that 35 gifted musicians from Dushanbe, GBAO, Sughd and Khatlon provinces will particiapte participated in the 16th “Roof of the World” Festival in Khorog.

DJ Invisible from the United States will be the guest of the festival.

The Festival organizers are expected to welcome more than 4,000 spectators.

The Festival organizers say it aims at promoting mutual understanding, expanding cultural diversity and promoting tolerance.    

The handicraft exhibitions and festival bazaar of the traditional cuisine by local communities reportedly demonstrated the local cultural products. 

Within the Festival, professional artists provided a series of master–classes for interested students, musicians, art critics, and local and international music admires.

Recall, the Festival returned last year after two years of the pandemic.  Last year’s three-day Festival was conducted in hybrid form both offline and online formats.  About 100 musicians from Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and some other countries performed on the stage and in live stream format to show their unique traditional and fusion music performances.
