The event will be held from October 15 to 19 with the support of President Emomali Rahmon in honor of Tajik Cinema Day. And now the selection of films for the festival is taking place. “Tajikfilm” State Institution reports about this on its Facebook page.

The film festival will be held under the motto "The history of the development of Tajiks". Its purpose is to support creative youth, exchange experience, professional development of young cinematographers, presentation of domestic and foreign films to film lovers, development of joint projects, presentation of tourist destinations, promotion of achievements of the period of independence, strengthening and expansion of international relations in the film industry within the framework of the "Program of Cinema development of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2023-2027".

The selection committee created by “Tajikfilm” included Director of “Tajikfilm” Mahmadsaid Shohiyon, First Deputy director of “Tajikfilm” Gaibullozoda Talib, director of the Gandhi Library of National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan Sufizoda Shodimuhammad, famous cinematographer Zaur Dahte, cameraman Tillo Nekkadamov, film critic Zohir Safiullo, art critic Mahmadullo Tabari, screenwriter Abdurofe Rabizoda, as well as Editor-in-chief of the State Institution "Tajikfilm" Nazar Nazarov.

Famous cinematographers from all over the world will take part as guests of honor.

"Films will participate in two competitions – feature films and short films. At the moment, films from Europe, Asia and the CIS continue to be accepted," notes “Tajikfilm”.

According to the report, the selection began on August 22 and at the moment more than 25 films from Iran, Belarus, Hungary, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Armenia, India and China have been reviewed and viewed. All of them are recommended to participate in the "Toji Somon" contests.

In addition to competitions, the film festival also includes a meeting of the Board of Directors of film studios, familiarization with film projects (cartoons, feature films and documentaries), a meeting with famous representatives of cinema from foreign countries of the near and far abroad, press conferences, Cinema Days of foreign countries, photo screenings dedicated to the city of Dushanbe, as well as a lesson "master and a disciple."
