Qohir Rasoulzoda, the Prime Minister of Tajikistan, inaugurated a newly established learning center of the School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPCE) of the University of Central Asia (UCA) in the city of Kulob, Khatlon province on January 4.
Press release issued by UCA says the Prime Minister was accompanied at the ceremony by a delegation of senior government officials, including Rahim Saidzoda, Minister of Education of Science of Tajikistan, Davlatali Said, Governor of Khatlon Province, and Bakhtiyor Nazarzoda, Mayor of Kulob.
“Very impressed by the level of instructors here, who are selected based on the competition, which is very important for providing high-quality of teaching,” – remarked Prime Minister Qohir Rasoulzoda while touring the facilities of the SPCE’s Learning Centre in Kulob.
The Learning Center in Kulob is the eighth such facility established and operated by SPCE in Tajikistan. Since 2006, similar centers have been operating in Dushanbe, Khujand (the capital of Sughd province), Bokhtar (the capital of Khatlon province), and Khorog (the capital of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region, or GBAO).
UCA plans to open more learning centers in the country in the coming years, including one in Danghara in 2024.
SPCE also operates learning centers in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Afghanistan.
In line with UCA’s mission of promoting the social and economic development of Central Asia, SPCE provides young people and adults with short-cycle professional and vocational training that improves employment and income-generating opportunities. To date, SPCE has successfully graduated over 240,000 learners across Central Asia and Afghanistan, with over 130,000 learners hailing from various regions of Tajikistan. SPCE has provided training to 1,300 entrepreneurs who created 1,500 jobs across the country. The School has also recently launched a technical and vocational training program for electricians open to students from across all regions of the country.

The SPCE Learning Center in Kulob, operating under the license from the Ministry of Education and Science of Tajikistan, will offer a wide range of internationally certified courses in English, German, and Russian, Official Language Tests, Computer Literacy, International Accounting Practice, Mathematics, Programming, Finance, and Management Accounting. The faculty and staff of the Kulob Learning Center were recruited among residents of Kulob and Khatlon province, reflecting UCA’s commitment to fostering socio-economic growth in the region.
