President Emomali Rahmon on January 13 signed a decree on measures aimed at strengthening the level of population's social security and increasing the minimum wage, public sector wage, pensions and allowances [scholarships], according to the Tajik president’s official website.

According to the decree, official salaries of military personnel, police officers, prosecutors and other law enforcement officers will rise 40 percent from January 1, 2024.    

Thus, the basic salary is set at 1,390.00 somonis to calculate coefficients for military ranks of military personnel and law enforcement officers from the rank of private to lieutenant and at 1,250.00 somonis from the rank of senior lieutenant to army general.

The basic salary is set at 1,250.00 somonis for civil servants in administrative positions of highest, first, second, third, fourth categories of civil service and at 1,390.00 somonis for civil servants in administrative positions of the fifth, sixth and seventh categories of civil service. 

The minimum monthly wage in all sectors of the country’s economy is set at 800.00 somonis from July 1, 2024.  

Official salaries of employees of the government and civil service, educational, scientific, sports, cultural, social protection facilities and other federally funded institutions will rise 40 percent from July 1, 2024.  

Beginning on July 1, 2024, the basic salary for a position of the highest category to be set at 1,120.00 somonis, for positions of the first, second, third and fourth categories to be set at 1,045.00 somonis, and for positions of the fifth, sixth and seventh categories to be set at 1,160.00 somonis.  

The basic salary for employees of the healthcare sector will be set at 620.00 somonis from July 1, 2024.

Beginning on July 1, 2024, scholarships of students of secondary and higher vocational institutions and presidential scholarships will also rise 40 percent, while insurance, labor and social pensions, as well as supplements to them will rise 30 percent.
