Two official sources within the Ministry of Culture say Ms. Zulfiya Davlatzoda has been relieved of her post of the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan in connection with transfer to another job. 

Ms. Matlubakhon Sattoriyon had previously served as the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan.  

One of the sources says Ms. Sattoriyon was presented as new Minister of Culture to the Ministry staff today at the morning meeting.  

Ms. Zulfiya Davlatzoda had served as the Minister of Culture since November 2020. 

However, the decree on the appointment of a new minister of culture is not yet available on the president’s official website.

The Ministry of Culture today morning gave a news conference on the results of work carried by the Ministry last year.  Ms. Davlatzoda did not attend the news conference and the Deputy Minister of Culture Obid Nazariyon answered questions from reporters.  

Ms. Matlubakhon Sattoriyon was born in Bobojon-Ghafourov district, Sughd province on September 19, 1972. 

She graduated from the Leninabad Teachers’ Training Instituted named after S.M. Kirov (Leninabad Teachers’ Training Institute was renamed the Khujand State University after Tajikistan gained Independence from the USSR), Faculty of the Tajik Language and Literature in 1994.  

Ms. Matlubakhon Sattoriyon served as the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan since November 202.

Prior to this, she had served as chairperson of the People’s Democratic Party (PDPT)’s organization in Sughd province since 2018.         

2014-208, Ms. Matlubakhon Sattoriyon served as Mayor of Guliston City (formerly Qairoqqum City) in Sughd province.

In 2011-2014, Ms. Matlubakhon Sattoriyon served as Mayor of Istiqlol City (formerly Taboshar City) in Sughd province.

In 2008-2011, Ms. Matlubakhon Sattoriyon served as Chairperson of the Sughd Directorate for Family and Women’s Affairs. 

In 1994-2008, Ms. Matlubakhon Sattoriyon worked in various positions at the Khujand State University
