In 2023, Tajikistan’s exports amounted to 2.4488 billion US dollars, which is 14.3 percent more than in 2022, Director of the Export Development Agency under the Government of Tajikistan, Bahriddin Sirojiddinzoda, told reporters in Dushanbe on February 9.

He further noted that that despite world’s sanctions imposed on Russia, “Tajikistan continues demonstrating positive results in the foreign trade turnover.

Last year, Tajikistan’s foreign trade turnover was estimated at 8.3289 billion US dollars, which is 1.0194 billion US dollar more than in 2022 (in 2022, Tajikistan’s foreign trade turnover was estimated at 7.3095 billion US dollars).

In 2023, the country’s exports reportedly included mainly dried fruits, primary aluminum and precious metals.

The Export Development Agency was established in September 2018 and it began its work 2019.  The agency was established to enhance Tajikistan’s export potential. The agency, in particular, seeks partners and consumers for Tajik exports abroad.

In addition, the agency is dedicated to improve the skills of employees of exporting companies and develop proposals for improving legislation to step up exports.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Industry and New Technologies Sherali Kabir had earlier told reporters in Dushanbe that Tajikistan last year exported a total of US$50.1 million worth of the food industry goods, which is 17.6 percent more than in 2022
