On Monday March 25, Tajikistan’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan, Abdujabbor Rahmonzoda, met in Tashkent with Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister, Bakhtiyor Saidov.

The Tajik MFA information department says the parties discussed issues related to using wide opportunities of friendly ties between the two countries and “expressed their readiness for upcoming summit as well as promoting economic diplomacy and implementing mutually beneficial projects.

Rahmonzoda and Saidov reportedly also exchanged views on a number of events that will be carried out in the framework of the upcoming state visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Tajikistan.

As it had been reported earlier, Shavkat Mirziyoyev is expected to pay a state visit to Tajikistan during the first half of this year.
