Today, President Emomali Rahmon began a three-day working visit to the northern province of Sughd.

The Tajik president’s official website says the main purpose of the visit is for the head of state to get acquainted with the current socioeconomic situation in the area, participate in Navrouz celebrations, hold meetings with regional administrators and the population as well as inaugurate a number of social and economic facilities in the province.  

The Bobojon-Ghafourov district was reportedly the first leg of president’s visit to northern Tajikistan.

While in the district, Emomali Rahmon inaugurated the Titan-8888 Limited Liability Company, which produces radiators, heating equipment, boilers of various capacities and searchlights.

The enterprise has created 100 new jobs for locals.   In the future, 170 people are expected to work for this enterprise at an average monthly wage of 2,500 somonis.
