On the eve of the new academic year, 31 young teachers from cities and districts of Khatlon region were awarded certificates for land plots. This is reported by the Department of Education of the region.

According to article 53 of the Law of the Republic "On Education", teachers and educational workers are entitled to various benefits, including awards for achievements and financial and moral incentives. Teachers who receive housing from the state fund for the first time or who need better housing conditions are provided with land for housing construction in the first place.

In addition to certificates for land plots, the prizes of the chairman of the region were also awarded to the winners of the contests "Omuzgori iftihorii Khatlon" and "Sohibvatan".

The winners of the competitions – heads of educational institutions and graduates (gold and silver medalists) received cash prizes in the amount of 3 thousand to 10 thousand somoni.

In general, more than 100 representatives of the education sector were awarded with gifts and monetary rewards.

The head of Khatlon, Davlatali Said, noted that in seven months of 2024, 32 educational facilities for 10,650 places were built and put into operation in the region for more than 60 million somoni. The construction and reconstruction of 165 facilities for 56,850 student places continues.

Davlatali Said emphasized that the financing of education in the region is increasing from year to year. In the last five years, it has increased 2.2 times: if in 2018 the financing amounted to 881.8 million somoni (58% of the total budget of the region), then this year it is planned to reach 2 billion somoni (60% of the regional budget).

Currently, there are 1,386 educational institutions in the region, in which 867,185 students study. 47,202 teachers work in schools.
