The capital of Tajikistan is preparing for the international tourism exhibition "Dushanbe-2024", which will be held on September 25-27.

"The official opening ceremony of the exhibition will take place on September 25 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. The exhibition and presentation of tourist opportunities will be held on September 26-27 at the International Exhibition Center (EXPO CENTER) Dushanbe," – “Asia-Plus” was informed by the city Hall.

They noted that this year the exhibition will be attended by representatives of the tourism sector of both the republic and the sister-cities of Dushanbe.

In particular, cities from Austria, Pakistan, Iran, Russia, Belarus, Turkey, China, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Qatar and Uzbekistan are among the participants. They will present the tourism opportunities of their regions.

The Hyatt Regency Hotel will also host an International Tourism Forum on September 25. The purpose of the forum is to present the tourism opportunities of Dushanbe and the development of urban tourism. During the forum there will be discussed the organization of the regional tourism market, the presentation of Tajikistan's natural resources, cultural and recreational potential, as well as attracting foreign investment in the tourism sector.

Cooperation agreements are expected to be signed between travel companies of Tajikistan and other countries. Within the framework of the exhibition and forum, a training on hotel and guest house services, as well as the activities of guides, will also take place on September 25.

"The final chord of the events will be the concert program, which will be held on September 27 in Navruzgoh," – said the mayor's office.

According to what have been told “Asia-Plus” in Committee for Tourism Development of Tajikistan, 748.3 thousand foreigners visited Tajikistan in the first six months of this year. Of these, 91.9% are residents of the CIS countries (approximately 687.8 thousand people) and 8.1% (60.5 thousand) are representatives of non-CIS countries.

580.5 thousand people from the total number of arrivals were registered as tourists, which is 19.1% more than in the same period last year (487.4 thousand).

The main part of them were citizens of neighboring Uzbekistan – 422,614 people.
