On Tuesday September 10, Prince Rahim Aga Khan met with Federal Councillor Ignazio Cassis, Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Federation, to discuss cooperation between Switzerland and the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) in countries and regions of shared interest, says press release issued by AKDN.

The Swiss Federation has been a longstanding partner of the AKDN across a wide range of fields, including the fight against climate change, development cooperation in multiple sectors, and humanitarian response.

The agencies of the Aga Khan Development Network are headquartered in Switzerland.

The Aga Khan Development Network is a collection of private, international, non-denominational institutions working to improve lives and expand opportunities for people in the developing world, particularly in Asia and Africa.  AKDN operates in over 30 countries with more than 96,000 employees, the majority of whom are citizens of developing countries. AKDN agencies focus on social, cultural, and economic development for all citizens, regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or gender.
