The inspection carried out by the working group of the Ministry of Education and Science (MoES) has confirmed that the teacher at School No 8 in Vahdat Township, Ms. Faizikhon Rajabova, was beaten by the mother of one of the 8th grade girls students and she is currently in hospital.

The incident occurred on October 5, when student Shahzoda Muminova repeatedly disrupted the "Fundamentals of State and Law" lesson, despite warnings from the teacher.

"During the lesson, due to several disciplinary violations, the teacher made remarks to Shahzoda Muminova, but she did not respond or correct her behavior.  As a result, an argument broke out, which escalated into a conflict, and the teacher was forced to give the student a grade of '2' for conduct," stated the Ministry's report.

According to the Ministry, when the student’s mother learned about her child's conflict with the teacher, she entered the school without notifying the administration or other staff.  In the classroom where Faizikhon Rajabova was teaching, a confrontation took place between them, during which the teacher was assaulted and sustained injuries.  Currently, she is hospitalized.

The Ministry of Education and Science condemns the actions of Firuza Sarmisakova and reminds that, according to Article 52 of the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On Education," the honor of teachers is protected by the state.  The professional activities of educators should be evaluated solely within the professional sphere and be under the protection of the relevant authorities.

Additionally, the Ministry’s working group, based on information from the school's trade union, reported that Rajabova has been working at the institution for four years and has good relations with both colleagues and students, with no prior complaints against her.

Ms. Faizikhon Rajabova has filed an official complaint with the Vahdat Police Department regarding the incident, and an investigation is currently underway.

The Ministry's working group met with staff at School No. 8 and visited Rajabova in the hospital to assess her condition.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that the assault on Faizikhon Rajabova "is considered an unlawful act and, in addition to the aforementioned grounds, constitutes a violation of criminal law, which is currently under review by the internal affairs authorities.
