President Emomali Rahmon has been unanimously reelected as head of Tajikistan's National Olympic Committee (NOC), with his candidacy supported by 30 sports federations.

His deputies, Dilshod Nazarov and Zulfiqor Gulakhmadzoda, will retain their positions, the NOC press center says.

Under Rahmon’s leadership, Tajikistan has reportedly seen the construction of 11,000 sports facilities nationwide, including 126 stadiums, 7,601 sports grounds, 2,251 gyms, 97 swimming pools, and 88 wellness centers.

The National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Tajikistan (NOC) is a sports governing body that was established in 1992 to manage Tajikistan's activities in relation to the Olympics.  Tajikistan made its debut as an independent nation at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, United States.

Simultaneously, president’s son Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali, who is also Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament) Speaker, was reelected to head the Tajikistan Football Federation (TFF) for a fourth term, extending his tenure to 2028. Rustam Emomali has led the TFF since 2012.

The Tajikistan Football Federation[a] (TFF) is the governing body of football in Tajikistan.  It is in charge of the men's and the women's national teams.  The Federation was founded in 1936 in the Tajikistan SSR as a sub-federation of the Soviet Football Federation. It was not until 1994 when the Federation was accepted by the international community including the continental and global associations.
