The Emergencies Committee under the Government of Tajikistan has received 15 types of heavy, specialized, and rescue equipment as part of a joint national disaster risk management project supported by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Committee's press service reports.

“Additionally, as part of a joint project with the World Bank, the Committee received four sets of drones,” says Umeda Yusufi, a spokeswoman for the Emergencies Committee.  “Three of them are designed for analyzing and monitoring high-risk areas, and another one is equipped with infrared and thermal imaging cameras to locate victims during emergencies.

The transfer ceremony was attended by the head of the Emergency Committee, Rustam Nazarzoda, and representatives of international organizations and financial institutions.

Nazarzoda expressed gratitude for the assistance, emphasizing that the equipment would save many lives and ease the work of rescue personnel during emergency operations and preventive measures.
