Rahmon shakes up a number of regional administrators and officials within a number of central government bodies

On Tuesday January 7, Emomali Rahmon conducted a series of personnel reshuffles and held a meeting with newly appointed officials to key leadership positions in cities and districts of GBAO (Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region), Khatlon province, districts subordinate to the center, and several central government bodies, the Tajik president’s official website says.  

By presidential decrees, "from among young and experienced personnel," the following appointments were made:

·         Chairman of Vanj District in GBAO.

·         Chairman of Nurek City and Chairman of Panj District in Khatlon Province.

·         Chairman of Nourobod District (Rasht Valley).

Firuzai Sharifi was relieved of her post of acting Chairperson of Nurek City due to her transfer to another position.  Similar reasons were cited for the departures of Zаrifkhouja Shohiyon (Chairman of Panj District in Khatlon Province) and Dodardjon Jobirzoda (Chairman of Nourabad District).

 

Government appointments

By government resolutions, the following dismissals and appointments were made:

·         Kamoliddin Muminzoda, head of the Tourism Development Committee under the Government, was dismissed and replaced by Jamshed Jumakhonzoda.

·         Usmon Davlatzoda, head of the Housing and Communal Services Committee, was replaced by Jamshed Tabarzoda.

·         Muhammadi Yatimzoda, head of the Administration of the Danghara Free Economic Zone (FEZ Danghara), was replaced by Amrullo Rahmonzoda.

Ministry changes

·         Rahim Bobozoda, First Deputy Minister of Transport, and Zevarsho Zevarshoyev, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, were relieved of their posts.  Replacements have yet to be announced.

·         Two deputy directors of the Export Development Agency, Bakhtiyor Nazirmazoda and Bahodur Rahimzoda, were also dismissed.  Khurshed Zuhurzoda was appointed First Deputy Director of the Agency, with Abdugaffor Jamolzoda as Deputy Director.

Other Dismissals

·         Habibullo Qalandarzoda, Deputy Chairman of the Food Security Committee, was replaced by Mustafo Muminzoda.

·         Bakhtovar Davlatqadomov, Director of the Republican Boarding School in GBAO’s Rushan District was transferred to another position and replaced by Arabgul Mahbatshozoda.

Additionally:

 

  • Ahmadjon Murodzoda was appointed Director of the Institute of History, Archaeology, and Ethnography named after A. Donish under the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan.

 

During the meeting, Emomali Rahmon urged the newly appointed officials to serve the state and people of Tajikistan selflessly and conscientiously, stay close to the population, maintain a high culture of communication, and instill patriotism and self-awareness in the younger generation. He emphasized protecting national interests and striving to improve and develop the country.

For the newly appointed heads of cities and districts, the President gave specific instructions to intensify construction projects in honor of the 35th anniversary of state independence. This includes involving entrepreneurs and philanthropists to accelerate the building of social facilities in their respective regions.
