The Shanghai Cooperation Organization welcomes the signing of the Treaty between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on the state border.

“The treaty is a manifestation of the goodwill of the parties to resolve issues through peaceful means, in the spirit of equal consultations, mutual understanding, and respect,” the SCO statement notes.
The member states of the SCO emphasize the special importance of the signed treaty and regard it as a valuable contribution to the cause of peace, ensuring security, and stability in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization space.

The CSTO Secretariat also welcomes the signing of the treaty, as stated in a message on the organization's website.

“Thanks to the consistent efforts and political will of the leaders of both countries, the line of the state border was agreed upon along its almost thousand-kilometer stretch,” the message reads.

It also highlights that resolving border issues will contribute to the development of regional cooperation, enhance security in the CSTO area of responsibility, and fulfill the tasks facing the Organization.

It should be noted that the Presidents of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, Emomali Rahmon and Sadyr Japarov, signed the Treaty on the State Border between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan on March 13. This historic event took place in Bishkek during the state visit of Emomali Rahmon to the Kyrgyz Republic.
